Being a Realtor is a choice I am grateful to have made every day. This career proves to be exciting, challenging, and ever evolving. It allows me to further my knowledge, access new skills, and benefit from my outgoing personality. When I decided to become a Realtor 7 years ago, I only dreamed of the fantastic life I could build all while building my business.
By far my favorite thing about being a Realtor are the close relationships that are created. This job allows me to meet people from all walks of life, that I would normally not be privy to, and form everlasting memories. I am grateful to every single one of my clients and the relationships we build because it helps me grow as a Realtor® and as a person. I enjoy working closely with my clients and really getting to know them so we are able to reach their real estate goals.
Another favorite part of being a Realtor is the creativity that is required. Some people may think that being a Realtor is all about paperwork, and yes there is a lot of that, there is plenty of room for the creative side of you as well. Digital marketing is vital these days and the creativity ceiling is unlimited with social media, website content and more. Writing offers for buyer clients also sometimes will require a creative touch. For example; if you are dealing with a unique situation you need to think outside of the box to get the deal done and have the sellers consider your offer.
My third favorite part of my job as a Realtor is the flexibility. Although it is not a 9-5 and the hours may be early or late some days, the opportunity to choose my schedule is very appealing. Being a mom and wife, days can be busy and being able to spend time with my family when needed is very special to me. I am happy to have this balance so that when my clients need me I can always ensure I am at my best. I appreciate being able to take care of clients and my own health, by being able to schedule doctor’s appointment’s for myself or family during most peoples working hours (when my clients are usually unavailable anyways).
Deciding on this career path was a choice I will always be grateful for. It did not come to me strategically, I kind of fell into this career but there is no alternative job in my future. There are zero days where I look for something else to do, I love this work and I will be around for a long time.
